My favourite thing about it is how inclusive and relatable it is considering the core of the story is basically angels fighting demons lol but it’s actually so much bigger than that. I don’t know what else to say to convince you to read it, considering it took me so long to pick it up myself, but I personally feel that there is something in this story for everyone. I was very hesitant to get into this series, I always kept putting it off because, before this, my first exposure to the shadowhunter world was the movie and it was NOT great. I read The Mortal Instruments and the rest of the Shadowhunter Chronicles at 22(last year), and I loved them! Don’t get me wrong they’re not perfect, especially the first couple of books, but the great thing about them is that they keep getting better the further down the rabbit hole you go. Describing what they are about would a bit of a spoiler, and they won't make much sense if you haven't read the main books first. In addition to these, there are also 3 different collections of short novellas more or less focused on a single character. The Eldest Curses (3 books, 1 published so far, takes place shortly after the events of TMI, I think, focuses on a central couple from that series).The Last Hours (3 books, 1 published so far, takes place one generation after the events of TID, during Edwardian era London).The Dark Artifices (3 books, takes place in contemporary Los Angeles about 5 years after the events of TMI).The Infernal Devices (3 books, takes place in Victorian era London).The Mortal Instruments (6 books, takes place in contemporary New York City).So there are several series all taking place in the same universe: Want to partner?
